2. it's interesting that Alice Walker was virtually unwritten about for ten years. the late 80s there was an explosion, then nothing much to do, except to try to "recover" her in the late 90s and around 2004. a sense that she deserves something. a strange desire to make her relevant. although she is sort of relevant and eternal in some ways, and totally passe in others.

3. my hands are drying up and all the scars are starting to duplicate or multiply in my mind: e.g. my fascinating with the telltale signs of aging and being an individual (lines on my face, grey hair, etc), i am starting to feel or see it sort of add up more significantly. no matter how much i moisturize my hands they are still dry and crackly. this is an interesting situation of life.
