i am stupid, or perhaps just out of it

the alice walker quote that i am so excited about--was in the essay i actually taught before. i am driving myself crazy, or perhaps not available to the wisdom i saw earlier in life. that was before i knew i would write on alice walker. i know life goes like this, but it's so exhausting to see how i am holding myself back. is that it, though? let's stay positive about this. sigh.
